This was my first nuc/split of the season, I think the Queen and her entourage has swarmed though. The girls are working hard anyways.I need to put in some open brood to keep the laying workers from starting. This frame of open brood will work well.A new queen cell in the making. The donor hive’s queen is spotted. God save the queen.
Today we watched an amazing sight. A honeybee colony left it’s home and hovered around and landed on a little cedar tree by a fence. Michael caught it, shook it into a new hive and set it back in his apiary.
