My Grandson Wendell’s first adventure with beekeeping.
He’s a very brave beekeeper!

The Chicken And The Hawk

I lost another chicken to the wildwoods in my backyard. This time it was a hawk. Very sad, but the hawk was so beautiful.
The hawk got tangled up in the chicken fencing after he killed my Dominique chicken.
I watched him spellbound until he got loose and flew away.

Checking On My Splits

This was my first nuc/split of the season, I think the Queen and her entourage has swarmed though.
The girls are working hard anyways.
I need to put in some open brood to keep the laying workers from starting.
This frame of open brood will work well.
A new queen cell in the making.
The donor hive’s queen is spotted. God save the queen.
